Welcome to Referee Instruction
New - Please read – The Course A model has changed
If your objective is to become an outdoor soccer referee for the first time or you have not been a certified referee for the last two years you will begin with the Course A. In this course you will receive the basic information to become a certified referee.
All persons are welcome to attend whether or not you have played soccer. The training is open to persons of all ages. However, our experiences have shown that those under the age of 13 will likely have significant challenges with the course material, course written testing and on the field experience during the games.
The Course A consists of 2-parts, Self-Study & Classroom training. Successful completion of both parts is required for certification. The following is a brief description of the Course A process:
1- Course A - is a 2-day event (5hr/ day) totaling 10hr. Normally the classes are on weekends. Attendance on both days is required. You must sign-up for both course days as defined, due to class size, facility, and instructor limitations.
2 – Registration - You will sign up for a course under “Classes Available” menu item on the left side of this page.
3 – Limitations -The maximum number of students for each offering is limited. If the class is full no exceptions will be made to add additional students. If for some reason you are not able to attend the class for which you signed up, please go to “My Registered Classes” and withdraw so another student may sign up.
4 – Confirmation - Once you sign up for a clinic you will receive a conformation email. If you don’t receive the email within 24 hours contact the State Director of Instruction at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
